One of the blog readers asked me what type of keyboard I was using to type Japanese and I realized that there might be quite a few of you who would not know. So here is the explanation:
I actually just use the English keyboard. All of Japanese can be written in Romaji, which means roman letters. so it's just the phonetic equivalents. You type in the pronunciation, the Japanese phonetic equivalents show up, then you press the space bar several times until you get the right Kanji (Chinese character). Because things have the same pronunciation but different characters and meanings, you have to know what you're looking for, but it's not hard. :-D
