This marks my last week at Cake. I've accepted a job offer at Ning for the Policies & Abuse Associate role and will be starting there on Monday. Ning is an internet start-up down in Palo Alto that lets you create a network for anything. It's pretty dynamic, and very intuitive. Check out FastCompany's Ning's Infinite Ambition.
I'm incredibly excited about this next chapter in my life, and I'm looking forward to the challenges that come with this new opportunity. I'll be doing a slew of things at Ning, such as making sure that all networks run within Ning's Terms of Service, helping out Network Creators, controlling spam, investigating legal issues, and working closely with others in the Community Advocacy group.
In my last week at Cake, I'm wrapping up all my assignments and making sure that I've outlined everything I do at Cake to help out the next person that takes over my role. This past year at Cake has flown by, and working here has cemented my interests in working on consumer internet products. No doubt, it's an industry I'll be working in for years to come. I'm thankful that I had this experience working at a company from the ground floor, and that I worked quite literally alongside everyone at Cake including all the Engineers, our Legal Counsel, Product Managers, Marketing Director, Graphic Artists, QA Managers, and of course, Steve, our CEO. This was such a learning experience for me, even in the minute interactions and overheard conversations in the office. Thank you, to everyone at Cake for making first job out of college challenging, rewarding and, dare I say... fun :)
No doubt, I'll be hitting the ground running at Ning. My sister's wedding is also next weekend, so stay tuned for some updates!
