Today, along with getting only 3 1/2 hours of sleep, I am also fasting (Ramadan, Islam). To say the least, it has been an interesting day. I am currently at work at the library and leave soon to go "home" to Utica at 6 o'clock. Four people have told me that I look "tired;" I'm sure that cannot be good.
That was a tiny excerpt from my daily routine. Although not every day is as hectic, they are all pretty eventful. My name is Amina Sabanovic. My birthday is February 27, 1988. I feel like this may get a little dull but it is necessary to fully understand me. I was born in Sarajevo, Bosna & Herzegovina, and lived there for eight years. Four of those eight years were spent without running water and electricity because of the genocide in Bosnia. When the "war" (as some have called it) was over my family and I moved to Utica, New York. Of all places, why Utica? I have no idea! Anyway, I've lived in Utica since 1996 until the fall of last year (2006) when I moved to Colgate, which is only about 45 minutes to an hour away from Utica.
