I'm pretty much speechless with the realization that I am done with college. Four Years. Flies By. I was in the gym a few days ago, and a sophomore friend of mine asked, "How does it feel to be done with classes?" It hadn't clicked yet, that I will never again sit in on a Colgate class as an undergrad. The truth is, it still hasn't clicked. i guess, I'm expecting that I will be back at Colgate in Fall 2007 for another year. I've heard the same thing from a lot of my classmates and friends. I ran into one of my Linksters today, and caught myself about to say, "Have a good summer, I'll see you next..." oh wait.
My time at Colgate has been truly amazing. I've learned. I've been challenged. I've had fun. I have met some really incredible people that I know I will stay in touch with and see years from now. I've dreaded graduating from college for the last four years. And it's unbelievable that that time is nearly here. Freshman year feels like it was yesterday, and I remember stepping foot onto campus after Wilderness Adventure (about 10 shades darker because I hadn't showered in a week), walking up Persson steps on my way to Andrews Hall. Going to Frank is huge groups with other kids in my dorm. Wow. That was freshman year.
It's weird. In the movies, college is made out to be this epic adventure. Called, "the best years of your life." I think that I've gotten everything I wanted out of my college experience. Colgate has been a good place for me. Part of me is sad to leave, and part of me knows that my four years are up, and it's time to do the next thing. I don't think I'll really ever move on from Colgate. I think Colgate becomes a part of you. I'll look back at my time here, and smile. I am looking forward to coming back to Colgate for Homecoming 2007 and my fifth-year reunion. Those times will be here in no time.
I am off to Hilton Head, South Carolina tomorrow with the majority of the Senior Class. The drive is brutal - about 17 hours... Despite this, it should be a really fun time, and I look forward to getting some sun and just relax for a week. Graduation Weekend is next weekend and I am really excited for my family to be out here. Graduation Weekend should be awesome. To any undergrads that have yet to see Graduation Weekend, check it out one year before it's your turn to be up.
